Hands on, in the field, ski and learn from the pros

Unique to the Altoona Ridge Lodge, this top rated Level 1 Avalanche Training and Certification, will take you into the field with top level professional athletes and skiers who will show you how the snow and the mountains work. You will learn everything you need to know about avalanches, you will hone your skills in the backcountry, you will learn how to operate safely in the backcountry, you will learn how to make proper decisions based on your knowledge and the information at hand to have a safe and fun excursion into the backcountry. See first hand and learn in the terrain that you will be going out in.

This trip is all inclusive. All meals, lodging, course work, skiing, amenities, the sauna, and transportation from the Princetonparking lot are included.

Arrive early on Friday morning (optional Thursday night arrival available) to the Princetonparking lot where we will pick you up by snowmobile for the final trip to the Lodge. Courses will begin after you get installed. You will spend all 3 days between course work in the Lodge and out skiing. The class will end with receiving your certification diploma on Sunday afternoon.

You will need to bring your backcountry gear along: skis or snowboard, skins or snowshoes, transceiver, shovel, probe, backpack, medical pack, water bottle, gloves, headlamp, etc.

3 days, one on one instruction, small groups, all inclusive.

$425 + 7% MT bed tax -  per person all inclusive – teaching, room, board, snowmobile transport from Princetonto ARL.

Meet at the VFW Maxville

Quad or Jeep Poker Run. Best hand of 5, at the end of the run is the winner.

The Maxville VFW Post 8292 and the Altoona Ridge Lodge team up to bring you a fun outdoor all day party in the FlintCreekMountains.

Cruse the mountains on an all day epic ride on your quad or jeep. Leave from the VFW, travel 40 miles on the back roads to 7 stops to pick your cards. The ride ends at the VFW for a Pig Roast, Pot Luck, door prizes, raffle, and the awards for the winner of the poker hand.

Party into the night at the VFW.

Stop number 3 is the Altoona Ridge Lodge where there are refreshments, snacks and toilets. Take a moment to sit on the deck and take in the day.

This is a family event.

Bring your camper or tent and spend the night.

Get a room at the Boulder Creek Lodge or at one of the many hotels in Philipsburg or Drummond.
