At the Altoona Ridge Lodge, you can choose between our Hosted or Self Guided trip packages. If you choose, our Hosts can also take you on a Guided adventure.

Our Hosts are passionate about nature and the backcountry. You can also choose to have a Guide lead you on the adventure of a life time. Our Guides are well versed in the layout of the millions acres of Forest Service land that surround the Lodge, and they will lead you to ski and hike and play in the best parts of the Flint Creek Mountains of Western Montana.

During a Hosted trip to the Altoona Ridge Lodge your Host will take care of all the details so that you don't have to. Our Guides and Hosts live by their stomachs first, and you will never go hungry here at the Altoona Ridge Lodge.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy fresh platters of appetizers while your host prepares a gourmet family style dinner for you and your group. Your Host will make sure that the wood is chopped, the wood fires heating the Chalet are blazing, and that the sauna is hot and ready for you.

Your group will enjoy full use of the Lodge Facilities. All Hosted trips require a 2 night stay or longer. Our sauna will be ready and warm for you when return from your daily adventures. There is as much terrain as you can ski or hike. All Hosted tour packages include all meals, a host, a backcountry safety presentation, and a portage of your gear from Maxville to the Lodge. During the summer, the lodge offers showers and a flush toilet.

Let us set up your adventure for you. Create a planned trip, allowing you to maximize your time skiing, hiking, relaxing and rejuvenating. Let us maximize you being on your adventures. YOUR Hosted trip will include:

• Your Host will have the Lodge set up and warm for your arrival
• Your Host will have drinks and munchies waiting for you when you arrive

• Your Host will take care of ALL the clean up, dishes, kitchen, lodge
• Your Host will have the coffee ready for you in the morning
• Maximum capacity 8 people

• We handle all of the cleaning and trash.

Hosted trips include gear shuttles to the Lodge from the parking area in Maxville. We will carry all of your gear to the top of the hill.

Confirming YOUR reservations: A $50 deposit per person Deposits are due within 7 days of placing reservation to hold dates. Full payment is due 7 days before the trip start date.

People who wish to stay for three nights or more receive a $30 per person discount for each additional night. For larger groups or longer stays, please contact us for details.

Our "secluded, exclusive trips" give you our entire site, exclusively for your party, for as long as you choose to stay.

Please remember that this is a wilderness backcountry situation, and there are no facilities near by. You will need to bring all your gear, specialty food and medications with you on the trip.

GUIDED TRIPS Add a guide for the day for $100 per party of 4 per day to the hosted base price. Parties of more than 4 will require 2 guides. Guides must be booked in advance to be able to properly organize. Your Guide will provide:

• Lead you on your adventures
• Route finding, planning, and mapping
• Take you to any of the scenic locations you wish to visit
• Ensures your safety during your trip
• Maximize your adventure
• Free you up to enjoy your trip, providing any support you may need
• Find the best powder stashes, and hit more slopes - your guide knows where all the best spots are
• Guides will break your ski trails for you
• Carry delicious lunches of French cheese, salami, and a fresh baguette from the local bakeries to the top of the mountain for you enjoyment
• Ensure your wilderness adventure is safe, fun, and fulfilling

Cancellations: We require notice of cancellation 30 days before the trip start date for a refund in full. For cancellations less than 30 days from the trip start date, there is a 50% charge of the deposit. Cancellations made less than 7 days from the trip start date there is no refund.
