Amenities

The property has been improved to offer the most enjoyment to guests. From the kitchen, to the bed rooms, to the sauna, everything has been thought out to provide the most enjoyment for your stay. The Altoona Ridge Lodge is an intimate setting for groups of up to 6 people.

The Lodge is comprised of 3 cabins that make up its internal workings. Separated to allow personal space, close enough together for intimacy.

The Lupine Chalet is where you will find the kitchen, dining and lounge areas. A huge deck on the front side of the cabin with tables and chairs allows for outdoor seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with a propane stove/oven, and all the amenities wanted to cook the most sumptuous meal imaginable at 8000’. It is prepared to cook the most intricate meals with a full array of pots, pans, baking pans, cutlery, silverware, dishes and glasses. On the deck there is a propane BBQ. There is plenty of space in the dining lounge area to sit back with a hot chocolate and relax comfortably next to the wood stove. Water is fresh from the frost free tap just outside the building.

The Wild Rose Chalet is home to the wood fired dry sauna. The outhouse is just behind the building with a splendid view of the mountains. Fill the bucket with water and rinse off in the shower after an invigorating sauna.

The Bear Den Chalet is where you will end your day, falling asleep before your head hits your pillow. There is never a concern about getting a good night's rest at the Altoona Ridge Lodge. Our set up allows an undisturbed separation for those who want to go to sleep early, while the rest of your group can stay up and play all night. There are 2 private rooms with queen beds and 4 bunks. The building is heated by a Norwegian built wood stove that loves to burn.

Our little yurt, also fondly known as the "Lovers’ Yurt" is a great space for two. The yurt is a short walk from the main complex of the Lodge, and offers complete peace and tranquility to the couple looking to get even more solitude during their vacation. The "Lovers’ Yurt" is 11 feet wide, has its own heat source, and is very cozy. The yurt includes a queen size bed, and provides a comfortable, private, and intimate sanctuary for those who wish to have that little extra time alone from the rest of the party.
